Youth Power Week Coming Soon
Carlinville Middle School Youth Power Club Celebrates Red Ribbon Week Oct. 20th- Oct. 27th with Red Ribbon Carnival
Throughout the country, activities have been planned to increase awareness of drug abuse and promote a drug-free environment through a unified commitment of all segments of the community. The Red Ribbon program originated when drug traffickers in 1985 murdered Federal Agent Enrique Camera. The Red Ribbon became the symbol of the drug prevention movement. Carlinville Middle School Youth Power Club will be hosting many activities during the week. Students will be decorating the school, entering essays and making posters for prizes during the school week. This is a time for the whole community to come together and support its’ youth in the fight against drugs. The Youth Power Club will sponsor a Red Ribbon Carnival Sat. Oct. 20th, 5:00 p.m.-7:00p.m. The carnival will take place at the middle school gym. Tickets will be sold for 25 cents at the door. There will be many games to be played, a fortune teller and much more. Grades K-8 are invited to participate.
